"Actually being in isolation, most of the artists of the Soviet and Post-Soviet Uzbekistan who are torn off from modern world culture had had no feeling of need for radical art statements, hasn't come understanding of a role of the modern art to modernizations of society … Nevertheless in the fine arts of Uzbekistan the 70-80th there are rare attempts to comprehend happening on the stage of world art … Artists create painting "for themselves", addressing not reason, and the emotional world." (V. Akhunov, curator of gallery).
Both the these picturesque and sculptural experiments based on art of modernism for some artists of steel very personal, feeling. It was art "escape" from a doctrine of social, socially significant art of the Soviet era to the own graphic world. On the other hand, the term "escape"- "побег" (in russian) can be considered also in "new sprout, young branch of a plant" value; and we can call the artists presented at today's exhibition by "new sprout" of modern Uzbek art.
The exhibition will last till October 17, 2017.
